As CMS and providers look for new ways to reduce cost and improve quality, gain sharing allows hospitals to work pro-actively with physicians to achieve cost-savings through product standardization and quality improvement. Recently, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has given favorable opinions on various gain sharing programs and expansion from more limited original models. Under our model, PACE HCC serves as the gain sharing program administrator and facilitator of the collaborative process between the hospital and the physicians.
